Construction: Walls and Roofs

Posted on: December 30th, 2010 by admin No Comments

Despite the dreary and wet weather so far this week, much progress has been made on the Artisan Ballroom!  Before the holidays, work began on the curtain wall.  Steel beams were installed surrounding the garden room.  The stone walls surrounding the bathrooms, service area, stage, and pizza kitchen are now complete.  The bathrooms and service area now have a roof, as the rounded panels for this section were installed over the past few days.  The panels for the rest of the roof are covering the lawn next to the ballroom, waiting to be installed.  In the meantime, the Barr Mansion is getting a bit of a face lift!  A fresh coat of exterior paint and a new color for the porch will bring new life to our namesake building.  The pictures that follow are in chronological order.

Construction: Concrete, Concrete, Concrete!

The last three weeks since the barn raising have seen tons of concrete!  A huge delivery of concrete blocks arrived the week after the barn raising and masons have been constructing walls for the service area and the restrooms.  This week saw the rest of the slab poured!  As soon as the slab cured, masons began construction on the walls in the back of the building, near the stage and the walls that will form our pizza kitchen.  The pictures that follow are in chronological order.
